SITE INFORMATION -

This facility is permitted and registered through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). This agency regulates all Landfills and Transfer Stations within the State of Texas. In order to stay in compliance and not violate any TCEQ rules, Republic Services requires that all visitors cross through the scales prior to unloading recyclables. This is so that the visitor can be acknowledged, and determined by the scale house attendant that only authorized items are brought into the facility. Be advised that crossing the scales is not so your vehicle can be weighed, but rather so your vehicle can be accounted for. Furthermore, radiation monitors are located on both sides of the scale. This is to ensure that any unauthorized waste which may contain radiation is screened and prohibited from entering the site. This is a requirement to protect the site, and most importantly, the safety of all visitors. Below are some reminders and what you should expect when arriving at the drop off site –

  • Enter through the scales and stop at the attendant's office
  • Proceed to the dumpsters and follow all directional signs
  • When finished, you may bypass the outbound scale and proceed to the exit
  • Do not place any recyclables in bags
  • This is a single stream collection facility and sorting is not required

RECYCLING TRAILERS FOR KERR COUNTY RESIDENTS

Kerr County is continuing its recycling efforts and encouraging all citizens to take advantage of resources that make recycling easier than ever. Kerr County residents have the option to dispose of their recycled materials in a recycling trailer that will be located in each precinct for one week every month. Kerr County has now acquired a second recycling trailer for more availability to the public and to provide more recycling opportunity. Recycling provides a range of environmental and economic benefits to our communities that the alternatives simply do not provide. Recycling also offers a sustainable alternative to landfill disposal.

One trailer will be in the following locations from Wednesday to the following Tuesday:

1st Wednesday of every month (Precinct 1) Turtle Creek Schoolhouse 300 Block Upper Turtle Creek RD (FM 1273) Kerrville, TX

2nd Wednesday of every month (Precinct 2) Lions Park Center Point, TX

3rd Wednesday of every month (Precinct 3) Lions Park (location subject to change at a future date) Center Point, TX

4th Wednesday of every month (Precinct 4) Hunt United Methodist Church 120 Merritt Hunt, TX

The second trailer will be available full time at the Kerr County Maintenance Department Facility (Former Recycling Center Location):   500 Hays St. Kerrville, TX
