Commemorative Benches

Information

The City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department offers you a special way to honor a loved one by placing a commemorative bench in the city parks system. This program offers a positive way to honor a loved one and enhance the beauty of your community.

Specific locations for bench placement within the parks system may be requested; however, final locations are subject to approval based on need. City staff will assist the donor with selecting a bench location that best fits the needs of both the donor and the Parks and Recreation Department. Please note that locations along the River Trail are no longer available. Keep in mind that a bench may be placed in any City Park. Locations are available at the Kerrville Sports Complex, Kerrville-Schreiner Park, and in any of our neighborhood parks.

The cost of the bench includes the bench, plaque, installation, and maintenance for up to ten years. It is understood that normal weathering of a bench may occur and shall be acceptable to the donor. At ten years, the donor should contact the department to arrange future options available for the bench program, if desired. After the maintenance period has ended, the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to remove, replace, or repurpose benches at their discretion.

EFFECTIVE OCT. 1, 2023

Benches will only be placed in the winter season (November-December), depending on the weather. Benches needing to be placed outside this season will incur an expedited service fee of $1,500. Placement outside of the winter season is subject to the availability of benches and the plaque production window (6-8 weeks). Orders must be submitted by the first Friday of September to be placed within the same calendar year. Orders submitted after this deadline will be placed in the following calendar year's winter season.

Fee

Commemorative Bench Fee: $3,500 per bench (includes the plaque)

Expedited Service Fee: $1,500 (incurred on benches placed outside of winter season)
