The Adopt a Cop program allows members of the community to partner with the Kerrville Police Department in our efforts to provide our community with the best equipped, most well trained and professional department in the area. From time to time the Kerrville Police Department has special needs that fall outside of the normal budgeting process. A recent example is the development of the Kerrville Police Department Honor Guard.
Formation of a Kerrville Police Department Honor Guard allows our department to be more involved in various community events. However, the process of training and equipping members of the Honor Guard Team takes a great deal of resources that our department simply does not have. Through the Adopt a Cop program, members of the community will be able to come along side members our department and assist with funding for the uniforms, equipment and training required for their participation.
In the future the Kerrville Police Department will provide information on other potential Adopt a Cop opportunities. Our department will announce these opportunities as they arise.
