Kerr County is the local rabies control authority.  Kerr County Animal Services (KCAS) enforces ordinances, such as restraint laws, laws concerning rabies vaccinations, county registrations, rabies control, cruelty investigations, bite investigations, and animal quarantines

Kerrville Pets Alive

Kerrville Pets Alive! is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless pets in Kerr County, Texas. Kerrville Pets Alive! works to keep pets in homes and out of shelters by assisting Kerr County Animal Services with funding and volunteers and providing animal welfare resources to the Kerr County community.

The City has a partnership agreement with KPA to coordinate and provide spay/neuter activities as well as pet microchipping services, adoption services, and overall pet wellness events to the community.

City of Kerrville Dead Animal Pick-up

The City of Kerrville provides removal, collection, and disposal service for dead animals on all City maintained roads within the City limits only.  This service is provided to protect the public health and maintain proper sanitation. City personnel will not remove any animal that is located inside or underneath a residential unit or building.
