[ARCHIVED] Kerrville Downtown Businesses Invited to Apply for Exterior Enhancement Grant Program

Exterior Enhancement Program

City Council approved funding aimed at brightening Kerrville’s downtown

The City of Kerrville has launched a new Exterior Enhancement Grant Program to support the improvement of local business storefronts located in Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 1 by offering up to $5,000 reimbursable matching grants. Approved by the Kerrville City Council, the fund currently holds $50,000 for local businesses with an application deadline of Jan. 16, 2026.

The Exterior Enhancement Grant Program will be used to support visual upgrades—such as façade improvements, landscaping and signage enhancements, which includes key commercial and retail areas in the city’s core.

“This program reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing our downtown and fostering a pro-business culture,” said Kelly Hagemeier, City of Kerrville Manager of Economic Development. “By partnering with local property owners, we’re elevating the vibrancy and character of Kerrville’s commercial districts to attract even more locals and visitors to this area full of shops, entertainment, and restaurants.” Applications will be evaluated on design quality, visibility and overall contribution to the district. Reimbursements will be issued once approved projects are completed and verified.

For guidelines and application materials, visit kerrvilletx.gov/grants  or contact Kelly Hagemeier at kelly.hagemeier@kerrvilletx.gov or (830) 258-1109.
