On July 14, 2014, Kerrville Police Department (KPD) Officer Kristy Harris was selected as the newest investigator of the Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU). Officer Harris will be assigned to Criminal Investigations by late August.

Officer Harris has been with the KPD for more than 6 years. She began her career at KPD in Patrol under the Field Operations Unit in 2008. During her tenure, Officer Harris has obtained the following certifications: Intermediate Peace Officer, Field Training Officer, Intoxilyzer Operator, and Background Investigator.

Officer Harris currently serves in the Traffic Unit as a Traffic Officer and is a member of the Special Operations Unit as the Senior Negotiator. Officer Harris fills the Investigator position created by Investigator John Knoulton retiring.
