On August 4, The Kerrville Police Department Special Crimes Unit along with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant in the 411 Lewis Street. Officers seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
KPD Acting Lieutenant for Investigations Ken Wilke stated, “The search warrant service was the culmination of a successful joint drug operation and led to the arrest of 37-years-old Kerrville Resident John Ramirez”.
The Special Crimes Unit received information that the residents were cultivating marijuan plants in a storage shed. Officers seized a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. No cultivated plants were located.
After learning, Ramirez’s two children were inside the residence and possibly exposed to the use of marijuana, Children’s Protective Services was notified.
Charged with Possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces, Ramirez, could receive a fine not to exceed $2,000; confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days; or both.
