[ARCHIVED] KPD Officers Receive Awards

On March 22, 2011, Kerrville Police Department Officers received awards at the regular meeting of the City Council. The officers were presented their awards by Chief John Young.

Lieutenant Curtis Thomason was awarded the Police Commendation Bar for his dedication and contribution as the Program Coordinator for the police department’s recognition efforts with the Texas Police Chiefs Association.

Chief John Young stated, “Lieutenant Thomason dedicated the better part of a year to ensure the Kerrville Police Department received the distinction of “Recognized” status”. “Additionally he also maintained his duties as Patrol Commander, providing guidance, counseling and direction to all patrol personnel”.

Investigator Darin Trahan was awarded a Certificate of Merit for exemplary conduct and excellence as an investigator. Trahan, through due diligence and persistence, was able to determine that a report of an accidental death was in fact a homicide. Investigator Trahan was able to obtain a confession which resulted in the suspect being found guilty and receiving a 12 year prison sentence.
