Christmas Tree Recycling
Christmas trees will be received in Louise Hays Park beginning December 17, 2006, through January 21, 2007. The grassy area below the park entrance will again be used for tree drop off.
Christmas trees should be free of ornaments, hangers, icicles, strings and any other glass, metal or plastic.
RETAILERS: WE WILL ACCEPT YOUR TREES THAT WERE NOT SOLD; HOWEVER, PLEASE ASSURE THAT ALL ROPES, TWINES AND PLASTIC NETTING ARE REMOVED BEFORE DROPPING THEM IN THE PARK.
The Parks Maintenance Department will begin mulching the trees on January 22, 2007. After that time the mulch will be available for free on a first come, first served basis. Citizens must bring their own containers and load their own mulch.
