[ARCHIVED] Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Mayor Eugene C. Smith

Effective Tuesday, September 6, 2016 the City of Kerrville municipal flags will be lowered to half-staff in honor of former Mayor Eugene C. Smith. Mayor Smith passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 88.

Smith served as a Kerrville City Council member from 2003 to 2008, including as Mayor from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, Smith served on several other community boards including Playhouse 2000, the Golf Course Advisory Board, the Kerrville Public Utility Board and the AACOG Executive Committee. The City of Kerrville is extremely grateful for his dedicated service to the community.
“Mayor Smith was a very distinguished member of our community. He worked tirelessly to improve the lives of everyone in Kerrville. This is a sad day for Kerrville and we mourn his loss,” said City Manager Todd Parton.
