Thousands of volunteers across the country use volunteers to fill vital roles in a wide range of capacities throughout law enforcement agencies.  Citizen volunteers help supplement and support officers and civilian personnel by allowing them to concentrate on their primary duties.

The Kerrville Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is comprised of Citizen Police Academy graduates who volunteer their time and talents in support of the Kerrville Police Department.  As citizen ambassadors to the Police Department, volunteers actively contribute by:

• Performing Administrative duties within the department
• Providing an extra set of eyes and ears on the street through the Citizens on Patrol Program (C.O.P.)
• Monitoring and enforcing handicap laws and violations
• Assisting with traffic control at parades
• Providing Law Enforcement related community services at Civic events
• Assisting with the Citizen Police Academy and the Junior Citizen Police Academy
• Facilitating the annual Blue Santa Project
